Reflections in Downtown Gettysburg
Published September 9, 2010
Today as I was walking around downtown, something came over me. It may have been the cool breeze, the crispness in the air or the apple I ate earlier today, but I looked around and said to myself “Yep, fall is here.” Although Fall/Halloween products and decor have been available in retail stores for a few weeks now (which usually does it for me) today felt like fall for the first time.
There is something about this season change that is so comforting. The football games, sweaters, pumpkin pie, apple cider, the changing leaves, gourds, harvest season…everything about fall is wonderful! And it never seems to last long enough.
If you’re looking for a getaway this fall, make Gettysburg a stop on your list. Gettysburg offers a perfect backdrop to experience the beauty and coziness that comes along with the season. Plan a Saturday to drive the
Gettysburg Wine and Fruit Trail or take a ghost tour downtown. Tour the Gettysburg National Military Park on horseback or Segway! There is so much to do- don’t let the season pass. We all know how quickly it will come and go!
