I hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous fall Friday!
If you’re in town this weekend, here are a few fun things you may want to check out. The weather forecast for the weekend in Gettysburg is looking sunny and gorgeous!
Winery Bus Tour: Every Saturday and Sunday the Historic Tour Company provides a Winery Bus Tour. (Visit their website here.) Spend the afternoon taking a scenic tour and visiting 3 local wineries: Reid’s Orchards and Winery, Adams County Winery and Hauser Estate Winery.
Tours depart at 1 ( from Historic Tour Company 55 Steinwehr Avenue – walking distance from the Gettysburg Hotel!) and return at 5:30 and the cost is $29 per person. Call 717-334-8000 for reservations.
Author Michael Reyka Book Signing at Pages of the Past: Pages of the Past is a new bookstore in downtown Gettysburg! We will be featuring their business in an upcoming post! Until then, read more about them on their Facebook page. Michael Reyka’s book, “A Son’s Journey: Uncovering my Father’s Life as a Thunderbird” details the author’s personal journey into his father’s life and experiences. The book also provides excellent primary accounts from veterans of the 45th Infantry Division. This is Mr. Reyka’s first appearance in the area. Meet him on Saturday from 2pm-4pm and Sunday 3pm-5pm.
Adams County Heritage Festival: The Adams County Heritage Festival is
this Sunday, Sept 19th and will be held at the Gettysburg Rec Park, Long Lane. There will be lots of activities like craft demonstrations, as well as music, ethnic food, dance, non profit info-sharing and children’s activities. The goal of the Festival is to celebrate unity and appreciation of diversity. It is from noon-5pm. (Be sure to bring chairs and blankets to listen to the great music!) For more information click here.
