Last Minute Shopping Ideas in Gettysburg

Published December 20, 2010

With only 5 days left until Christmas, finishing up that shopping is a must if there  are still a few things on your list. Don’t worry- we’ve made it easy for you to find that perfect something this week!

Here is a quick gift-giving guide of a few items I picked out in downtown Gettysburg.

These darling music boxes are from Codori House of Gifts on Lincoln Square. This shop carries so many beautiful trinkets and items, making it easy to find something unique to give as a gift.

For the man in your life, T&S Clothing & Gifts (also on the Square) is the perfect stop. Right now, they are featuring these lovely wool sports coats for only $100. (They are normally $200-250.)

Great for men or women, a gift certificate to the Gettysburg Day Spa will be greatly appreciated! For a list of their services visit here. They’ve made it really simple for you with online purchasing!

I loved this unique item at Lord Nelson’s Gallery on Chambersburg St. -Wearable art by Diane Kline! Diane has made prints from her original paintings. These images are used to create keepsake boxes with matching wearable art inside. The paper mache’ boxes and wearables are made from recycled materials. The necklaces & earrings are covered with epoxy resin to protect the artwork. There are many paintings to choose from, but I particularly loved this one pictured above.

They also offer a larger box, jewelry item, and coordinating scarf set!

Also from Lord Nelson’s Gallery, check out these really cute pieces of “desk art.” Shown here is the “recession monster” and in the background you can see their “pewter cork pets.” These are sure to bring a smile and make great stocking stuffers!

A McClellan’s Tavern or Centuries on the Square Gift Certificate is always a great option for anyone on your list!

If you will be doing some holiday entertaining or in need of a nice hostess/host gift. Adams County Winery on Chambersburg St. offers a mulled wine recipe called “Winter Hearths” perfect for those chilly nights. All you need is 1 bottle of Three Ships to the Wind red wine (pictured above), 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 cup Apple Cider and 2 “Olde Tradition” Spice Bags. Pour wine into a crock pot, add sugar, cider and spice bags. Mull on lowest setting for one hour or until ready to serve. Packaging all the ingredients together in a nice basket would be a great gift!

Good luck finishing your shopping!
