New Year’s Eve is one of the best times to be on Lincoln Square in downtown Gettysburg. The Gettysburg Hotel offers a great getaway package that is consistently sold out, but there are also a lot of activities going on for the entire family that are free and open to the public. These programs are presented through the partnership of Gettysburg Borough, ACNB Bank, the Adams County Arts Council, and Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania.

Schedule of Events on Lincoln Square:

9 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.: Deejay Mark Purdy

9:30 p.m.: Classic rock with the band Audacity

10 p.m. -12 midnight: Stilt walker & Balloon Art by Adventure in Fun ( Gettysburg Hotel lobby)

10 p.m.: Feats of fire by Pyrotechnotics, fire performance group

10:15 p.m. – 11:10 p.m.: Classic rock with the band One More Time

11:15 p.m.: Feats of fire by Pyrotechnotics, fire performance group

11:30 p.m.: WGET morning personality Fred Snyder’s countdown to midnight on Gettysburg Hotel porch with a Funny Hat Contest, special guests, and vocalist Meg Folkemer

12 midnight: Fireworks display sponsored by ACNB Bank.

Visit the Adams County Arts Council Imagination Station on 18 Carlisle St, Suite 201 for children’s arts activities from 8 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Children ages 4-12 can make a funny hat, jewelry, and participate in a holiday sing-a-long!  Sponsored by Members 1st.
