June First Friday – Time to UnWINEd
Published June 2, 2011
It’s finally here -warm weather and sunshine! Tomorrow’s forecast looks like it’s going to be an amazing day to come downtown, enjoy a walk, admire the newly landscaped square, do a little shopping, get a bite, have a cocktail and relish the fact that summer has arrived.
This month’s theme is all about wine! Take some time to visit our three local wineries at their retail shops in downtown Gettysburg.
Here are more suggestions to put on your list:
Grab a cocktail and a bite to eat at McClellan’s Tavern. Friday’s special feature is the Orange Dream Martini (Whipped Cream Vodka, Triple Sec, OJ, and real Whipped Cream), and a 1/2 price BBQ Slider appetizer.
Create a cheese tray from a recycled wine bottle at Wentz Stained Glass. Visit Wentz Stained Glass at 48 York Street to create this fun project for only $15.00. I’ve mentioned Wentz in a previous post. Their classes and workshops are always a good time, not to mention the creation you get to keep or give as a gift!
Take part in an Artist Wine Reception at Just Jennifer Gallery. From 5-8pm Just Jennifer Gallery will be holding a wine reception to celebrate the art of Photographic Fine Artist Larry Brogan. Below is an example of his beautiful work. ALSO, all yard and garden decor is 20%. Enjoy wine, art and get your garden in great shape for outdoor entertaining at the same time!
