Ice Cream Shops in Gettysburg

Gettysburg offers so many fantastic ice cream shops!
As I write this post, it is pouring in Gettysburg! We usually don’t say this, but the rain is so nice to see. Gettysburg, and all of Pennsylvania for that matter, has been experiencing such high temperatures and this cooling rain is just what we needed. For the next 5 days though, it looks like we are in for steady 90 degree weather. What better way to cool-down than with a huge scoop of your favorite ice cream? Gettysburg offers so many great ice cream shops. Each shop provides different flavors and a different experience. We recently asked our Facebook Fans about their favorite ice cream spots in Gettysburg and here are a few of the responses:
1. Kilwins
The number one response on Facebook was Kilwins! You are sure to find something you love at this store located on 37 Steinwehr Ave. It’s impossible to go inside without leaving with a treat since they are almost always making something in the front window or in the shop. The smell of waffle cones and bowls for Kilwins Original Receipe Ice Cream or a batch of hand-paddled Mackinac Island fudge can’t be resisted and we wouldn’t recommend trying. 🙂
For more information and hours visit their website here.
2. Brusters
On the other side of town (York St.), you will find Brusters Ice Cream! They are currently offering their new Oreo Ice Cream sandwiches available in a 6-pack! Yum! If you’re celebrating a birthday or other special occasion, put a Brusters ice cream cake or pie on your list. Not to mention, they offer their freshly made creations by the quart and the gallon. 3. Cannonball Old Tyme Malt Shop
This shop is conveniently located in downtown Gettysburg right off Historic Lincoln Square on 11 York St. Enjoy slushies, ice cream sodas, milkshakes, and more in this quaint shop! They also have tables set up outside to enjoy your treats while taking in downtown Gettysburg.

4. Mr. G’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Shop
Gettysburg newest ice cream shop, Mr. G’s, made the list of our Facebook Fan favs. I did a write up about Mr. G’s in a previous post. Step back in time and enjoy their 16 homemade flavors!
