October First Friday Gettysburg Style & Salsa on the Square
Published October 6, 2011
Today is a breath of fresh air! After a long, rainy few weeks, today’s sunshine is so refreshing. It is one of those fall days that just can’t get any better. The best part is, it’s not going away! This weekend is forecasted to be absolutely gorgeous with temps in the mid 70’s. We are thrilled since a fun Gettysburg tradition is being held this Friday -Salsa on the Square! Not to mention, it is First Friday Gettysburg Style and many merchants will be having special deals and events.
Check out last year’s video of First Friday October and Salsa on the Square! The street will be closed off for live salsa music by Hector Rosado and Orquesta A-CHE, dancing, food by local restaurants & caterers, children’s activities, and a Hispanic Heritage Month proclamation by Mayor Troxell.
Here are some other stops you will want to put on your list:
Gettysburg Day Spa “Get Your Pink On” Event.
Let’s not forget October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Gettysburg Day Spa is holding this fun event to raise money for a cure. Give a donation per service to receive Hair Blow Outs, Seated Massages, Skin & Makeup Consultations, Pink Painted Nails and Pink Hair Extensions! They will also have some fantastic door prizes!
Lark Gifts Pumpkin Floral Arrangement Demonstration:
Area craftsperson Susan Rumford will join Lark gift shop for First Friday on October 7th from 5 to 8 pm. Susan will demonstrate how to create a pumpkin floral arrangement and will have complimentary do-it-yourself instructions for guests to take home. Refreshments served.
McClellan’s Tavern:
In celebration of the Apple Harvest Season, McClellan’s Tavern will be offering a Carmel Apple Martini (made with Local Apple Cider) as a Happy Hour Drink Special. They will also be offering the 1/2 price appetizer of Cheese Fondue with Apple Wedges and Breadsticks.
