Celebrate American Arts, Culture, and Cuisine During the Gettysburg Festival

Published June 6, 2012

The highly anticipated, 10 day Gettysburg Festival kicks off on Friday, June 8th!

Five-time Grammy award winner, Robert Cray, launches the Gettysburg Festival lineup into its banner fifth birthday by celebrating the blues, a purely American music style.  More than 100 additional events will explore a full range of American art forms:  Broadway-style “improv” theater, farm-to-table cuisine, traditional as well as contemporary brass, America’s largest gathering of historical artists, up-and-coming Americana folk trio Red Molly, and a choral concert exploring the roots of America’s Negro spirituals, along with much more.

Here’s just a brief sample of events that will be held during the festival (Many events are free to attend!)
* June 9th: Blues, Beer & BBQ Featuring Shemekia Copeland
* June 9th & 10th: Art Market
* June 8th-17th: Plein Air Paint Out
* June 14th: Edible Art Tour
* June 15th & 16th: History Meets the Arts
* June 16th: All-American Brass Picnic
