This month marks the 155th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s historic Gettysburg Address. Just steps away from the Gettysburg Hotel, President Lincoln prepared his immortal address in the David Willis House. In honor of this landmark occasion, there are many ceremonies and special events happening this month.

This year’s Fancy Dress theme is Tartan to commemorate those of Celtic heritage who fought during the Civil War. Guests are encouraged to emulate a historical character like Rob Roy, William Wallace, or in time period appropriate dress such as a shepherdess, noble clanswoman, or kilt. Enjoy the sounds of a Celtic harpist, a poem recited by Jim Duffy, a native of Dunfermline, Scotland, bagpipers, and Highland dancers.

A grand celebration on the second night of celebration includes a cocktail hour, three-course dinner, and live entertainment. Ladies and gentlemen are encouraged to wear any period decoration that shows a patriotic theme.

Annual Remembrance Illumination
