Gettysburg Hotel Gives Back
Published March 14, 2023
Gettysburg Hotel and its team members take pride in being an integral part of a closely-knit community and are committed to making a positive impact in their local community. To that end, every month, one department of the hotel chooses a charitable organization to support and showcase. By choosing a different organization each month, we help to bring attention to a variety of causes and allow different departments to get involved and make their own contributions while creating a stronger, more resilient community. Below are some of our recent initiatives.
In January, The Starbucks Team at the Gettysburg Hotel initiated the “Smitten for Mittens”, where they collected mittens, warm clothing, and art supplies to be donated to various organizations such as the United Way of Adams County, SCCAP, Children’s Advocacy Center, and Center for Youth Community Development.
In February, the housekeeping department generously donated decorative pillows to the Adams County Rescue Mission.
The One Lincoln team members dedicated their efforts in March to support the Special Olympics by recruiting volunteers and collecting healthy snack items for the athletes.
In April, the Engineering team is planning to help clean up the town by participating in the “From the Ground Up” initiative. Additionally, Executive Chef Kelly Gates will be donating homemade soup to the Soup Kitchen. Gettysburg hotel also supports The Gleaning Project, a nonprofit effort that collaborates with local farmers to reduce food loss and increase food security in the South Central Pennsylvania region. This initiative is part of the hotel’s partnership with the South Central Community Action Programs (SCCAP).
In May, the Sales team members of the hotel will be working on a special project with the Adams County SPCA, an organization dedicated to saving the lives of animals in the community.
There are many ways to get involved, from volunteering time or resources to fundraising efforts or awareness campaigns. By working together with local organizations, you can help to build a stronger, more vibrant community and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around you.
